Coos Bay School District Meetings

Coos Bay School District meetings are subject to the Public Meetings Law (ORS 192.610-192.710).  Notice of additional meetings will be sent out as necessary. The public is welcome to attend. School Board Meetings and Budget Meetings are held in the Community Room at Milner Crest Education Center, 1255 Hemlock Ave., Coos Bay, unless otherwise noted. Regular School Board Meetings are usually held the second Monday of the month unless otherwise noted. The meeting location is accessible to persons with disabilities. Request for other accommodations should be made to Board Secretary Shelby George at 541-267-1310 or

Public participation time is scheduled at each regular meeting to allow community members the opportunity to share information or concerns about educational issues. To view the previous month’s Regular Board Meeting, go to Channel 191 Broadcast and select Coos Bay School District from the menu.

August 10, 2020  at 6:00pm - Special Board Meeting - Blueprint Review - The Coos Bay School District (CBSD) Board of Directors will hold a Special Board meeting on August 10, 2020 at 6:00pm; The CBSD Board will meet in public session via video conference. If the board is able to meet in person and follow social distancing requirements, this information will be updated the Friday before the meeting.
Members of the public may watch the board meeting live. The agenda and packet will be posted here the Friday before the meeting.

Public Comment:
To support the Governor's recommendation for social distancing, the Board will only accept written public comment for the August 10, 2020 meeting. Please refer to board policy (BDDH) regarding public participation. Please send comments and testimony to the board secretary e-mail or by mail addressed to Coos Bay School District Attn: School Board, 1255 Hemlock Ave., Coos Bay OR 97420 by 5:00pm on Friday, August 7, 2020.

  • Clearly label the subject line as "Public Comment" or "Testimony"
  • Public comment received by 5:00pm on Friday, August 7, 2020 will be posted in the board packet the day of the meeting.

Policy Committee Meetings On Break for the Summer --Normally held the third Thursday of each month at 4:00 PM at Milner Crest Education Center, 1255 Hemlock Ave in the Community Room.
