At Coos Bay Public Schools, we are committed to providing students with meaningful educational opportunities through the effective use of technology. Technology plays an important role in supporting learning, communication, collaboration, and creativity both in and outside the classroom. Students are encouraged to use district-provided technology responsibly to enhance their educational experience, work collaboratively with teachers and peers, and access learning resources that support academic success.
Students are responsible for the general care and proper use of the Chromebook and technology resources issued to them by Coos Bay Public Schools. District technology is intended to support learning and educational activities, and students are expected to use these resources in a safe, respectful, and appropriate manner.
By using a district-issued device or account, students agree to follow all district policies, administrative rules, and applicable laws regarding technology use. Students are expected to use district technology only for educational purposes consistent with the mission of the district. Inappropriate use includes, but is not limited to, harassment of others, unauthorized access to accounts or systems, misuse of copyrighted material, actions that threaten the security or functionality of district technology resources, or any activity that violates district policy or law.
Failure to follow these expectations may result in the loss of technology privileges and/or disciplinary action. While the district maintains backup and security procedures, users should understand that data security and recoverability cannot be guaranteed. Files, data, and communications conducted using district technology resources may be considered district property and may be accessed in accordance with district policy and applicable state or federal law.
